William Saliba Signs New Five-Year Contract with Arsenal Until

William Saliba has committed his long-term future to Arsenal after signing a new five-year contract with the Premier League club.

According to a report by VANGUARD, the France international defender has put pen to paper on a deal that runs until 2030, extending his stay beyond his previous contract which was due to expire in 2027.

Saliba, 24, had been strongly tipped to sign an extension despite earlier reported interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The centre-back first joined Arsenal in 2019 but spent several loan spells away from the Emirates before cementing his place in Mikel Arteta’s side during the 2022/23 season. Since then, he has become a vital figure in a Gunners team that has finished second in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.

Speaking on his new deal, Saliba said:

“I feel at home. We have a good team, we have a good squad, we have good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so it’s the best place to be.
I enjoy every day when I have the chance to wear this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also praised the French defender’s growth and importance to the squad:

“William is loved by all the players and staff, and that speaks volumes about his character, commitment and attitude every day.
Since joining us, William has grown so much, embraced responsibility, and has created a strong connection with our supporters and everyone at the club.”
