2027 Admissions: FG Announces JAMB, WAEC, NECO Exam Dates

The Federal Government has released a harmonized timetable for external examinations for the 2027 academic year, setting strict timelines aimed at releasing all major results by August 2027 to facilitate seamless university and tertiary admissions by September.

The initiative forms a core part of the education reform agenda championed by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, under the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI).

To achieve this synergy, the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, convened a high-level meeting with heads and representatives of major examination bodies at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja. The session focused heavily on eliminating timetable clashes, boosting administrative efficiency, and guaranteeing prompt processing of results.

Approved 2027 Examination Schedule

According to the official release, the harmonized timetable outlines specific dates for key national examinations:

• JAMB-UTME: 15th – 25th March, 2027 (Results expected in March 2027)
• NECO-SSCE: 1st April – 14th May, 2027 (Results expected in August 2027)
• WAEC-WASSCE: 11th May – 18th June, 2027 (Results expected in August 2027)
• NABTEB: 1st June – 5th July, 2027 (Results expected in August 2027)
• NBAIS: 10th June – 9th July, 2027 (Results expected in August 2027)

The Ministry of Education emphasized that it will maintain continuous engagement with all examination boards to ensure strict adherence to these timelines, strengthen institutional accountability, and align academic calendars with seamless tertiary admissions.

Reaffirming the administration’s dedication, Director of Press and Public Relations Boriowo Folasade noted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government remains fully committed to expanding timely access to higher education nationwide.
