INEC Announces Nationwide PVC Collection to Begin October 9

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that nationwide collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) will officially commence on Thursday, October 9.

The electoral umpire revealed that the recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise recorded a massive surge in turnout, yielding over 10.7 million new voter registrations across the country.

Speaking on the milestone, election officials confirmed that logistics arrangements have been finalized to ensure a seamless distribution process across all local government areas and designated electoral wards nationwide. Newly registered voters, as well as citizens who requested transfers or replacement cards, are urged to visit their respective collection centers with their registration slips.

Public interest groups and civil society organizations have welcomed the announcement, urging eligible Nigerians to collect their PVCs promptly ahead of upcoming elections. INEC reiterated its commitment to transparency, voting accessibility, and democratic integrity across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
