By Stephanie Ikanone

The Commissioner representing Sapele, Ethiope West and Okpe local government area on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC Hon. Joyce Overah has congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his victory at the Supreme court and advised the defeated Chief Great Ogboru, to quit politics and take up other ventures.

Hon. Overah who was addressing newsmen immediately after the supreme court dismissed the petition of Chief Great Ogboru, said that; the All Progressive Congress gubernatorial candidate in the last general elections has distracted governance in Delta State for too long, adding that, it would be best if he quits politics.

The Commissioner stressed that the APC gubernatorial candidate has made Delta State to look like a state without sound principles where anyone can just come from overseas or wake up one morning and say he wants to be governor.

He noted that Ogboru has been pursuing a questionable political agenda right from the time of the administrations of Chief James Ibori, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and now the present Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, filing one petition to another, right from Election Tribunals to Appeal and Supreme courts, thereby dragging the state into series of avoidable litigations.

“Chief Great Ogboru has been distracting the governance of Delta State for too long. My advice to him is to quit politics and venture into other areas of life. He should stop distracting the smooth running of governance in Delta State with litigations that leads to no where. I must thank God for Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s victory.

“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has always won and will continue to win, he is a man after God’s heart. A man that has come with the mindset to develop Delta State. His projects speaks volume for him. In every local government area there are commissioned projects, ongoing, and new projects that are been initiated.

“Governor Okowa has raised the bar of governance since the foundation was laid down by Chief James Ibori. I must congratulate the governor for his well deserved victory at the supreme court which has put a rest to Ogboru’s zeal to govern Delta State.” Hon. Overah stated.
