2027: Oborevwori Inaugurates Delta APC Campaign Council, Unveils MORE Plus
Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has charged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council to take President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s message of reform and grassroots development directly to voters across all polling units and wards ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking in Asaba during the inauguration of the council, Oborevwori officially unveiled “MORE Plus” as the central theme for his re-election campaign. Describing the assignment as a call to service, the governor urged party leaders and canvassers to operate with discipline, unity, and dedication to secure a decisive victory for President Tinubu, himself, and all APC candidates across the state.
He stressed that the electioneering strategy must go beyond traditional political rallies and town hall meetings to embrace direct, door-to-door engagement with ordinary citizens, including market women, youths, workers, farmers, and traders.
“Our achievements must speak for us, but we must also be prepared to explain them convincingly,” Oborevwori noted. He urged campaign coordinators at the local government and ward levels to strengthen their structures and articulate the administration’s impact.
The governor highlighted that the campaign will center on government performance, pairing the Federal Government’s policy strides with his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which focuses on infrastructure, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment, and regional security.
He reassured Deltans that ongoing development projects will proceed without interruption throughout the campaign period, while appealing to politicians to avoid hate speech and maintain peaceful conduct.
Solidarity messages from key stakeholders across Delta’s three senatorial districts reinforced the party’s readiness for the 2027 polls. Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme commended Oborevwori for aligning Delta State with the Federal Government, urging party faithful to highlight key federal interventions, such as local government autonomy, education funding, security, and infrastructure.
Defending the administration’s economic policies, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, SAN, stated that bold structural reforms were necessary to rectify long-standing economic challenges and place the nation on a path to sustainable growth.
State party leaders also expressed firm commitment to grassroots mobilization. Delta APC Chairman Chief Solomon Arenyeka declared that the inauguration signals total readiness to contest and win at all levels, while former Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa urged the council to demonstrate the party’s strength through voter turnout.
Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, and Stella Okotete pledged strong backing from their respective senatorial districts, with Okotete charging women mobilizers to target delivering at least 75 percent of all cast votes for the party.
The newly inaugurated Delta State APC Campaign Council is headed by Governor Oborevwori as Chairman, with former Delta South Senator James Manager serving as Director-General and Chiedu Ebie as Deputy Director-General. Accepting the role, Senator Manager pledged to coordinate with leaders at all levels to execute a sustained grassroots campaign to secure victory in 2027.
