Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru has declared that she will become President of Nigeria, telling her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, that she intends to achieve the ambition in his lifetime.

Osawaru made the declaration while celebrating Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom, who turned 92 on September 11.

“I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you go. And I’ll make you very, very proud,” she said.

The statement has sparked reactions online, coming amid Osawaru’s growing profile in Edo politics. She currently serves in the Edo State House of Assembly.
