Delta South APC Leaders Back Tinubu, Oborevwori Ahead of 2027
Elders, leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta South Senatorial District have reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other party candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The stakeholders made the commitment at the Delta South APC Senatorial District Mega Meeting held on Thursday in Warri, where they also resolved to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures, reconcile aggrieved members and work towards a stronger electoral performance.
They said the party must convert its growing support into votes by intensifying mobilisation across the district’s wards, units and communities.
Speaking at the meeting, Senator representing Delta South, Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, urged party members to work collectively to deliver victory for the APC and its candidates.
He said: “The task before us is victory. We have a responsibility to work together, mobilise our people and ensure that our party produces the maximum votes in the forthcoming elections.”
Thomas also urged APC candidates to remain committed to the party and avoid actions that could create divisions. He called on members to take the achievements of the Tinubu administration and the Oborevwori-led Delta Government to the grassroots.
The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, said the political atmosphere in Delta South was changing, with renewed interest among youths and leaders across the district.
Guwor challenged party members to ensure that all 87 wards in Delta South deliver improved results for the APC in 2027.
“Delta South will do better than before. We are determined to make Delta South the highest-performing senatorial district in Delta State,” he said.
He called for support for APC candidates at the National and State Assembly levels, including Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, Basil Ganagana and others.
The Delta State APC Chairman, Chief Solomon Arenyeka, said the party was determined to rebuild its political strength in the senatorial district through unity and grassroots mobilisation.
Arenyeka urged party members across Warri South-West, Warri North, Warri South, Isoko North, Isoko South, Bomadi, Burutu and Patani to strengthen the party’s structures and work collectively ahead of the elections.
He also reaffirmed the APC’s support for Tinubu, Oborevwori and the party’s candidates at the National and State levels.
In his welcome remarks, Delta South APC Chairman, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, called for reconciliation following the party’s primaries.
He urged members with grievances to use the party’s internal dispute-resolution mechanisms, while appealing to successful candidates to reach out to their former opponents and build inclusive campaign structures.
Amgbaduba said the party’s campaign would focus on taking the achievements of APC-led governments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic development and empowerment to the grassroots.
The meeting was attended by several APC leaders and stakeholders, including Senator Stella Omu, Senator James Manager, Chief of Staff to the Governor Prince Johnson Erijo, Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Mrs Ifeyinwa Sobotie and members of the National and State Assemblies.
Goodwill messages from representatives of the Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko ethnic groups also emphasised unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation.
The stakeholders subsequently charged party members across Delta South to return to their wards and units, mobilise voters and work towards an improved electoral performance for the APC in the 2027 elections.
