Delta Govt Declares No Movement for October Sanitation Exercise
The Delta State Government has announced that the monthly environmental sanitation exercise for October will hold on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with vehicular and human movement restricted during the exercise.
The announcement urged residents across the state to participate in the exercise by cleaning their surroundings, clearing overgrown weeds and desilting drainages to prevent the spread of diseases.
Residents were also reminded to clean an area extending up to a 20-metre radius around their premises as part of their civic responsibility to maintain a clean environment.
The Commissioner for Environment, Moses Ogodo, alongside the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, staff and other relevant agencies, will monitor the exercise across Delta State to ensure compliance.
The state government called on residents to cooperate with the directive and contribute to building a cleaner, healthier and safer environment.
Residents are advised to complete necessary movements before the restriction begins at 7:00 a.m. and resume normal activities after the exercise ends at 10:00 a.m.
