Fame Is Boring — Victor Osimhen Opens Up About Privacy

Napoli and Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has candidly described fame as a personal restriction, revealing how stardom has affected his family life and privacy.

In a recent interview shared on X via Instablog, the 26-year-old forward recounted missing his daughter’s first outing due to constant media and public attention. “I remember when I had my daughter … I couldn’t do much with my daughter on her first outing,” he said, explaining that he had to hand her over to his sister while he took pictures and videos instead of enjoying the moment.

Reflecting on the downside of public life, Osimhen remarked:

“Fame is boring. Sometimes you want to go outside, and you cannot do a lot of things”.

Despite global acclaim, he emphasised a longing for normalcy and connection to his roots.

“I just like to be around these people. … This is how I was born, so for me, it’s just natural,” he added.

Osimhen also acknowledged the unyielding support from his family, particularly his elder brother, who he credits for helping him navigate a high-profile career:

“One of the few lessons that I’ve also learned—my elder brother is there to guide my footsteps” .

Surrounded by ordinary people, even when accompanied by security, Osimhen feels most himself in everyday environments:

“If I have my security … for me, I’m good. I can be among these people. I don’t care. This is my life. This is how I live”.
