The Deputy Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Solomon Ighrakpata has charged Chief Great Ogboru and leaders of APC in the state to join forces with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in his effort to develop the state.
Hon Ighrakpata who represents Uvwie Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Special Duties also called for the support of other Deltans in that regards, stressing that the for all to shun acts capable of causing disunity in the state.
The Lawmaker stated this in a congratulatory message to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership of the people’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state over the Wednesday’s Supreme Court Judgment that affirmed the re-elections of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State for another tenure of four years.
Hon Ighrakpata described the victory as victory for democracy and the rule of law, maintaining that it was a triumph over anti democratic forces.
He said the 2019 governorship election in Delta State was won overwhelmingly by the PDP, saying that the candidate of the APC challenging the results in court was unfortunate and ill advised.
Hon Ighrakpata said the Supreme Court verdict has finally laid to rest all the legal battles and the accompanying distractions, saying that the Governor will be better focused to deliver more democratic dividends to Deltans.
“Governor Okowa is so determined towards building a stronger Delta. The support of all Deltans who are critical stakeholders to the Delta State project is required. I enjoy all to continue to give their maximum support to the Governor. He is a well focused man, determined to leaving a lasting legacy in the state “, Ighrakpata stressed.
He congratulated Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the leadership of the PDP for the victory and pledged the unalloyed support of the people of Uvwie to the PDP administration in the state.
The Lawmaker prayed God to continue to grant the Governor the wherewithal in his efforts to entrenching good governance in the state.
