I’m the Most Suitable for Delta Governorship Seat, Gbagi Tells Esiso

Foremost aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Kenneth Gbagi, on Saturday, June 12, 2021 visited the Chairman of the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, Barr Kingsley Esiso at his residence in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

The former Minister for Education and a criminologist while addressing members of the Peoples Democratic Party at Sapele urged the Party Chairman to support him saying that he was the most suitable candidate for the Governorship Seat come 2023

Chief Gbagi said that he intends to partner with youths in the state while adding that he has a data base of what it takes to win election come 2023

He posited that he believes that Barr Kingsley Esiso will be handing over the flag to him for two significant reasons. Firstly, himself, Chief James Onanefe Ibori and Prof Oyovbaire started the race together, and he is the oldest PDP member seeking to run for Governorship race and because the current governor is an honest man and will not result in dishonesty in choosing his successor.

In continuation, he said that, Governor Okowa’s word is like the word from God, and that he has met with all the governor’s in Delta State since 1999, and without missing words, he wants to say that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is assiduously honest. He trust that Okowa means well to develop and transform Delta State and as such he will be straight forward in his dealings as far as the governorship race is concern and that is why he has decided to join the governorship race.

He further said that there are agitation everywhere and though the governorship ticket will come to Delta Central senatorial district, it was imperative for the people of Delta Central to partnership with all tribes in the three senatorial districts to enable them succeed and making statement that brings problem and disunity amongst Deltans in the state, is not necessary.

My plea is that we should work with the State Party Chairman, the Governor for a stronger PDP, as we must at the appropriate time decide and ask the youths to choose their leader, he added.

Barr Esiso while responding, thanked Chief Kenneth Gbagi for coming to see him, while noting that he has every right to aspire for the governorship seat.
