Excessive Spendings: Elon Musk Disgusted at President Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’
Elon Musk has publicly denounced President Donald Trump’s flagship tax and spending legislation, labeling it a “disgusting abomination” in a series of posts on his social media platform, X.
This marks a significant shift from Musk’s previous support of Trump, including a $250 million campaign donation and his recent role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
In his posts, Musk expressed his frustration: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
Musk further criticized the bill for its potential to increase the national deficit by $2.5 trillion, warning that it would burden Americans with unsustainable debt.
The legislation, known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” includes significant tax breaks and spending cuts, with reductions in subsidies that benefit electric vehicle manufacturers like Musk’s Tesla.

Musk’s outspoken criticism has been echoed by prominent Republican figures, including Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee, who share concerns about excessive government spending and fiscal irresponsibility.
Despite the backlash, the White House has defended the bill, asserting that it will stimulate economic growth.
Musk’s comments signal a growing rift within the Republican Party and highlight the challenges facing the Trump administration as it seeks to advance its legislative agenda.
The bill is currently under review in the Senate, where it faces scrutiny from both sides of the aisle.
