Breaking News: DELSU Scraps Post-UME for New Students Admission

Published on August 19, 2025

The management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has officially announced that the Post-UTME examination will no longer be part of its 2025/2026 admissions exercise.

According to an official bulletin issued on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, all prospective candidates who applied to DELSU will now be screened online using only their JAMB scores and O’Level results.

“The import of this is that candidates shall no longer be taking the usual examination popularly called Post-UTME,” the statement read.

The University explained that this decision became necessary following reports of undue pressure on candidates by fraudulent individuals posing as staff or agents of the institution. By scrapping the Post-UTME, DELSU aims to protect prospective students and reinforce its commitment to transparent, merit-based admissions.
