We Need Enabling Laws To Strengthen Institutions In Delta State – Hon Elekeokwuri


The Member Representing Ika North East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Anthony Elekeokwuri has said that the seventh Assembly will strengthen institutions in the state through enabling laws.

Hon Elekeokwuri who stated this while interacting with Assembly Correspondents in his office at the Assembly complex in Asaba, said the state legislature is determined to building more infrastructure and improve the lives of Deltans.

The Lawmaker noted that the House will continue to collaborate with the executive to build the various sectors of the state’s economy.

He said the present sixth assembly contributed immensely to the development of the state through quality laws and oversight functions.

Hon Elekeokwuri noted that the reelection of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for another term of four years as well as his victory at the poll, was a vote of confidence passed on them by the people to do more.

He noted that having garnered experience in the legislature, his reelection to the seventh Assembly will enable him contribute more meaningfully to the growth and development of the state.

Hon Elekeokwuri said several infrastructural and educational projects have been embarked upon in his constituency, adding that more will be done in areas that have not received attention.

While stressing that several bills passed by the House are geared towards the rapid socio economic development, Hon Elekeokwuri said the Public Finance Management Bill awaiting the governor’s assent will enhance transparency and accountability in governance.

He called on those who contested with him to align and join hands with him to build the areas as all hands must be on deck to move the constituency forward.
