Late Gospel Singer Toluwanisings’ Family Warns Public Over Fake Fundraiser
The family and management of late Nigerian gospel minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, have disowned a viral fundraising campaign soliciting donations for his wife and children.
The disclaimer was issued directly on Instagram through the singer’s verified official handle, following his sudden passing in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Shortly after news of his death was confirmed, a fraudulent online post surfaced across social media platforms, directing members of the public to an unauthorized third-party link to contribute funds for the support of his grieving family.
Rebuking the fake campaign on the late singer’s official Instagram page, the family shared a screenshot of the fraudulent appeal marked with a warning and urged followers to report the account immediately.
“Disclaimer! This is not true, please. Please report this page massively. If at all something like this will come up, it will be from this page. Thank you,” the statement read.
The management cautioned fans and well-wishers against falling victim to scammers attempting to exploit the singer’s death. They added that official details regarding his burial arrangements will be shared exclusively through his verified social media handles in due course.
Toluwanisings, leader of the Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), was known for hit gospel tracks such as A Very Big God and Onibuore.
