Burna Boy Unveils Multi-Million Naira School, Clinic, Library in Rivers
Grammy Award-winning music star Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has completed a multi-million naira humanitarian project in Odiokwu community, Ahoada West, Rivers State. The newly constructed complex features a secondary school, a modern medical clinic, and a community library.
The announcement was officially made by popular social media activist VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse) through video walkthroughs and drone footage shared on his social media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
The project originated after a young local girl posted a viral video exposing the dilapidated condition of her community school. Following the viral clip, Burna Boy contacted VeryDarkMan to fund and execute a total overhaul of the facility.
The development, valued at over ₦250 million, was built to meet high structural standards. Project coordinators confirmed that the outer perimeter fence alone required 18,000 concrete blocks.
The healthcare wing includes more than 10 fully equipped rooms for consultations, maternity services, and emergency response, while 17 solar streetlights illuminate the grounds to guarantee round-the-clock power and security.
In addition to classroom blocks for junior and senior secondary students, the facility houses a stocked community library and custom artistic murals designed to inspire young learners.
Burna Boy’s community project has drawn nationwide acclaim, demonstrating how public-spirited private investments can help bridge critical infrastructure gaps in rural Nigerian communities.
