2027: Mulade Pledges Unity, Peace, Development for Warri Federal Constituency as NDP Candidate
Delta State-born environmental rights activist and United Nations Peace Ambassador, Comrade Mulade Blessing Sheriff, has declared his commitment to promoting peace, unity and inclusive development among the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo people of Warri Federal Constituency if elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.
Mulade, who is contesting under the platform of the National Democratic Party (NDP), made the commitment during the official flag-off of his campaign and consultation meeting with supporters and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The politician, who is also the Ibe-Sorimowei of Ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area, said his ambition was driven by the desire to provide quality and people-oriented representation for the constituency.
According to him, the 2027 election should be about capacity, competence and the ability to deliver meaningful development, rather than ethnic or individual interests.

Mulade expressed concern that Warri Federal Constituency had not received the level of development, empowerment and federal attention commensurate with its contribution to Nigeria’s economy.
He promised to use legislative advocacy and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders to attract federal interventions and development projects to Warri and its environs.
“If elected in 2027 into the House of Representatives, Warri City and its environs would be given the deserved special attention through constructive advocacy and engagement with all relevant stakeholders.”
He also pledged to make the concerns of residents of the constituency more prominent at the National Assembly.
“I assure you that the voice of Warri people will be heard constructively,” he said.
Targets Warri, Koko ports and industrial development
The NDP candidate identified the revival of major economic infrastructure as one of his priorities if elected.
He promised to collaborate with the local, state and federal governments, as well as other critical stakeholders, towards the resuscitation of the Warri and Koko seaports and the development of the Warri Industrial Park.
Mulade said the revival of such facilities could stimulate economic activities and create employment opportunities for young people and women across the constituency.
He also proposed greater investment in agriculture, fisheries and skills acquisition as avenues for youth and women empowerment.
“I would work in collaboration with the local, state and federal government to resuscitate the Warri and Koko Seaports, Warri Industrial Park and engage critical stakeholders to create employment opportunities and empowerment for our teeming youths and women through agriculture, fishery and skill acquisition programmes.”
‘Warri people cannot continue to fight themselves’.
The House of Representatives hopeful also used the occasion to call for an end to ethnic divisions and conflicts among the various communities that make up Warri Federal Constituency.
He urged the Ijaw, Itsekiri and Urhobo communities to prioritise peaceful coexistence and collective development over narrow ethnic considerations.
“We cannot continue to fight ourselves, we cannot continue to deprive ourselves, we cannot continue to destroy ourselves,” he said.
Mulade called for a broader relationship based on trust, peace and unity, arguing that such an approach was necessary to unlock the developmental potential of the constituency.
‘I am not a placeholder candidate’.
The politician said his aspiration was not motivated by political spectacle or an attempt to occupy the position temporarily.
He described himself as an independent and original voice seeking to bridge what he termed the representation gap in Warri Federal Constituency through advocacy, stakeholder engagement and an inclusive approach.
“I am not here for a political funfair gathering to stand in the gap; neither am I a political mole or placeholder, but I am here to close the gap through constructive advocacy, engagement and inclusive approach,” he said.
Presenting himself as the “Light of Hope” for Warri Federal Constituency, Mulade appealed to voters and stakeholders to support a political agenda centred on unity, peace, employment, empowerment and development.
He said his ultimate objective was to deepen unity and peaceful coexistence while ensuring that Warri Federal Constituency received stronger representation and greater attention from the Federal Government.
