DeeOne Claims Genevieve Nnaji’s Silence on Social Media Is Hurting Her Brand
Controversial comedian and reality TV star, DeeOne, has sparked debate online after claiming that veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji is losing relevance due to her absence from social media.
Speaking on a recent episode of Pulse’s Hot Takes podcast, DeeOne argued that celebrities who maintain a mysterious or low-profile persona are being overshadowed in today’s digital age by more active, internet-savvy personalities.
“Genevieve not talking much on social media is not helping her. Genevieve not posting on social media every time is reducing her brand. Let me rephrase it anybody who is not posting constantly is not top of mind,” he said.
He went further to compare Genevieve’s influence to that of current internet sensations, suggesting that younger digital creators now dominate public attention.
“What makes her [Genevieve] different from other actresses? Number one from when? Since which year? Peller right now is more relevant on the internet space in Nigeria than Genevieve Nnaji,” he added, referencing the popular TikToker.
The remarks have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some defending Genevieve’s legacy and others agreeing that staying relevant in today’s entertainment space requires consistent online presence.
