Davido’s Sister Reveals How She Keeps His Spending in Check

Davido’s elder sister, Sharon Ademefun, has revealed how she helps manage the singer’s finances and keeps his luxury spending in check.

Sharon, who is involved in Davido’s management and serves as the Chief Financial Officer of his record label, made the disclosure during an appearance on The Morayo Show.

She said she and Davido hold weekly finance meetings to review his spending, particularly his purchases of luxury cars and jewellery.

“If me and him sit down, we always have a finance meeting every week because I think it’s important for him to know how his money is being spent. I always say, David, please, no more cars.”

Sharon said their close relationship allows her to tell Davido things other people may hesitate to say, even when it leads to disagreements between them.

“The problem is that me and David; we are always fighting. The one that other people can’t tell him, me, I’ll tell him,” she said.

According to Sharon, cars and jewellery are among the areas where she frequently cautions the singer about his spending.

“One of the major things that I’m always getting on my brother is jewellery and cars,” she said.

She also explained that coming from a wealthy family does not mean having unlimited access to money, saying family wealth is usually managed through structures and budgets.

“When you are born into a family office, family wealth, structure, there is structure. So you don’t just get to go into a coffer and take whatever. So you still have to live within whatever budget or means that you’re given.

“A lot of nepo babies, should I say, don’t have as much access to cash as you may think. They have more than the average person, but it’s not unlimited.”

Sharon also described her longstanding relationship with Davido, saying she has been involved in caring for him since he was young.

“I’ve always taken care of David. He’s always been my baby,” she said.
