Tiwa Savage Accepts Teni’s Challenge to a Boxing Match

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has accepted a playful celebrity boxing challenge from fellow singer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, setting social media abuzz across Nigeria.

The exchange began after Teni posted a viral video on her Instagram page proposing a high-stakes celebrity match. Tagging the “Somebody’s Son” crooner, Teni joked about earning a multi-billion Naira fight purse and playfully declared she would apologize to Tiwa only after the bout.

“MAMA!!! make we fight @tiwasavage. 3 billion later I go apologise for outside the boxing ring,” Teni captioned the video.

In the video, Teni humorously pondered whether her earnings from the bout would be enough to purchase a Bugatti. She joked that once she steps into the ring, she wouldn’t even spare a glance at Tiwa’s son, Jamil, before adding that she would sing her hit song “My Darling” to serenade Tiwa after defeating her.

Spotting the post, Tiwa Savage responded in the comment section with a swift three-word answer: “Pick a date.”

The banter comes just days after reality TV star Ijeoma Josephina Otabor aka Phyna knocked out Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday in a celebrity boxing match in Lagos during Balmoral Group Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring series.

While no official promoter or contract has been announced yet, fans across social platforms are already speculating whether the online exchange could turn into the next major celebrity exhibition match in Nigerian entertainment.
