After 19 Years, Governor Oborevwori Delivers 20.95km Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road
Delta State has recorded a historic infrastructure breakthrough as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori announces the full completion of the 20.95 km Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road, a project that features 15 bridges of various spans and connects key riverine communities that were previously difficult to access.
This milestone marks the end of a 19-year journey since the contract was first awarded. Today, under the MORE Agenda of Governor Oborevwori, the long-awaited access corridor has finally become a reality, easing transportation, boosting trade, and opening new economic opportunities for the Itsekiri nation and the entire state.
According to Governor Oborevwori, the completion of this project is “a promise made, and a promise kept.” He described it as a deeply cherished achievement for the Itsekiri people and a major step forward in transforming Delta State’s infrastructure landscape.
The Trans-Warri Ode-Itsekiri Road is expected to be formally commissioned in the first quarter of next year. This massive development stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to sustainable growth, improved mobility, and delivering life-changing projects that impact communities across Delta State.
