Tottenham Pursues Boniface Signing

Tottenham Hotspur, a two-time English Premier League winner, is keen on signing Victor Boniface, the talented forward from Bayer 04 Leverkusen and the Super Eagles.

The 24-year-old had a remarkable debut season, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in 34 games, helping his team win the German Bundesliga title and the DFB Pokal.

According to reports, Tottenham could win the race to sign Boniface, as Bayer Leverkusen is open to selling the Nigerian star.

Despite having a plethora of attacking options, including Son Heung-Min, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Richarlison, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke, and Mathys Tel, Spurs are looking to strengthen their frontline.

The team is currently struggling in the Premier League, ranking 16th, but they have a chance to salvage something from the season in the UEFA Europa League.

It’s believed that Boniface was on Tottenham’s radar about a year ago before they signed Solanke from Bournemouth.

Boniface is reportedly willing to leave Leverkusen when Xabi Alonso departs, and Spurs might capitalize on this opportunity. However, they face stiff competition from West Ham United, who are also monitoring Boniface’s services.

Interestingly, Boniface has expressed a preference for playing in Spain over England. A potential move to the Saudi Pro League fell through during the winter transfer window, but it’s possible that a lucrative offer from the Premier League could change his mind.

With Boniface entering the peak years of his career, the opportunity to join a top-tier team like Tottenham might be too good to pass up.
