Legislative Quarters Heist: Police Arrest Nwaka’s Burglars

The Delta State Police Command has arrested two persons suspected to have burgled the official residence of Hon. Angela Nwaka, the member representing Aniocha North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.

The said incident allegedly occurred at the Legislative Quarters along Okpanam road, Asaba.

The suspects, Sule Ahmed and Tagboe Peter Celestine, were reported to have been apprehended by eagle-eyed police detectives who were dispatched by the Police High Command to bring the culprits to book.

According to a Press Release made available to Journalists by the State Command, it was disclosed that On 18/10/2017, one Tagboe Peter Celestine, a Beninose, and cook to Hon. Nwaka, broke into her safe and carted away a huge sum of money, including jewelries and other valuables.

However, on 22/11/2017, Operatives of SAKCCS, while acting on technical intelligence at the Command’s disposal, arrested one Sule Ahmed at Lagos, who harbored the principal suspect and also assisted in unlocking the Safe. He also shared from the proceeds. He provided useful information that led to the arrest of the prime suspect at Abuja. The statement added that the suspects have confessed to the act.

It will be recalled that, Asaba Metro on October 18, 2017, reported that, the residence of the member representing Aniocha South in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Angela Nwaka, has been allegedly burgled by unknown persons who carted away an undisclosed amount of money running into tens of millions, foreign currencies, expensive jewelries, kitchen appliances and other treasured properties.

 The case would soon be charged to court.
