2023: Delta Marshall Group Throws Weight Behind Omo-Agege Guber Ambition
A political pressure group, Grass Roots Marshalls, GRM, has thrown its weight behind the governorship ambition of His Excellency, Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Ovie-Omo-Agege.
The group which threw its weight behind Omo-Agege during the inauguration on Saturday, September 24, 2021 at Ughelli Kingdom Hall, Ughelli North local government area, said the decision to work with Omo-Agege became necessary after thorough search on who can wrestle power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta state.
While inaugurating the group the patron, Engr. Tony Ochuko Onyokoko said the group cut across the three senatorial districts of the state with a view to embarking on mosquito campaign for their principal, Ovie Omo-Agege, stating that they have seen him as the only messiah that can rescue power from the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
The National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Ejogbamu Johnson Okoro aka Okorojek, in his vision and mission statement during the inauguration, said the choice of Ovie Omo-Agege came after a thorough scrutiny and was endorsed considering the numbers of employment and other assistance he has offered Deltans across board without tribal sentiment.
Okoro said before the birth of this group, that Deltans have been yearning for a man with intellectual who can liberate the state from the hands of maladministration of the ruling party, PDP, until the group’s eye was open and saw that no other man can do it except Ovie Ovie-Omo-Agege, hence the group had decided to queue behind him.
The National Coordinator while taking questions from newsmen, appreciated those political bigwigs whose names were not mentioned but has given them maximum support, mostly the Chairman of the ceremony, Engr. Dafe Avbovbo who promised to donate three Sienna’s buses to the group for mobilization of members and others who sent good will messages for the successful ceremony cannot be quickly forgotten in his speech.
He said with their members spread all over the ten federal constituencies in Delta state and the zeal they have to deliver their principal, there is no doubt that they have total confidence that Omo-Agege will redeem Deltans from the hands of bad government.
Earlier, the Chairman of the ceremony, Engr. Dafe Avbovbo who was represented by Engr. George Anigboro commended the coordinator for the foresight in keying into the Omo-Agege governorship aspiration and his new Delta vision, appealing to all members of the group to work hard so as to achieve the dream of making Omo-Agege governor come 2023.
Sir Ambrose Oyovwe who represented Omo-Agege, lauded the body for their dream and vision urging them to continue in their efforts towards taking Delta state from the Peoples Democratic Party that has destroyed the state to the next level.
He said, “APC government led by Muhammadu Buhari has done well because what PDP could not achieve for 16 years, we have achieved it in less than 8 years”.
