Delta Police Detains Officer over Reckless Shooting in Asaba

The Delta State Police Command has detained a police officer captured in a viral video recklessly shooting at the tire of a moving car near Toscana Hotel, along Okpanam Road in Asaba.

“In all honesty, this is embarrassing, shameful, careless, so unprofessional and not justified at all. The policeman has been identified, detained and will appear before the CP today,” Edafe stated.

He assured that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the incident and that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken in line with police service regulations.

Although the offence of the driver involved remains unclear as of the time of filing this report, the command confirmed that the erring officer is currently in custody.
