Dele Farotimi: Sowore Rallies Worldwide Protest for Freedom

Nigerian Human Rights Activist and 2023 Presidential Candidate for African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore has called for a global protest against the Nigerian Judiciary over the arraignment of Dele Farotimi.
Recall that Farotimi was arrested on Tuesday, December 2, from his Lagos office by operatives of the Ekiti State command of the Nigeria Police Force and subsequently whisked away to Ekiti State where he was hurriedly arraigned and remanded.
Sowore who has been vocal against the use of security apparatus in civil matters, have repeatedly called for Farotimi’s unconditional release.
On Thursday, December 5, on his X handle, he announced a global protest against the Nigerian Judiciary in a flier with the caption “It is about to go down! Enough is Enough! #FreeDeleFarotimi NOW!”
The announcement themed, “Nationwide/Global Protest Against the Nigerian Judiciary” contained locations where the Protest would be held.
The content reads, “ Nigerians refuse to be silenced. Locations; Lagos – Afe Babalola Chambers, Abuja – Federal Ministry of Justice, Ekiti – Police Headquarters, Ado Ekiti and London – Kings’ College Campus.
‘Date – 10th December 2024, #freedelefarotimi, #pressfreedom, #repealcybercrimeact.”
Meanwhile, Farotimi is said to have his next day in court on December 10.
