BREAKING: Dangote to Give One-Third of Fortune to Charity
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, plans to donate about one-third of his wealth to charitable causes through the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF), according to his daughter, Halima Dangote. The disclosure highlights the billionaire’s growing commitment to philanthropy as the Dangote Group expands its business empire.
Halima Dangote, an Executive Director at Dangote Group, said the family’s long-term vision is to channel a significant portion of the billionaire’s fortune into initiatives that improve lives across Africa through education, healthcare, nutrition and economic empowerment.
The Aliko Dangote Foundation has already committed substantial funding to education and humanitarian programmes in Nigeria, including a ₦1 trillion education initiative announced last year.
The latest pledge further reinforces Dangote’s position as one of Africa’s leading philanthropists, with the foundation expected to play an even greater role in tackling poverty, improving access to quality education and strengthening healthcare across the continent.
