How to Access FG’s ₦50,000 Cost-of-Living Relief Through OPay

Selected Nigerians can receive ₦50,000 monthly from the Federal Government as part of a relief programme designed to help poor and vulnerable households cope with the rising cost of living.

OPay has announced how eligible beneficiaries can check their status and access the money through its platform.

The payment company said it is an approved provider for the Federal Government’s National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI), a programme aimed at providing financial support to Nigerians struggling with rising living expenses.

To check for the support, eligible Nigerians can dial *955*20# and follow the instructions displayed.

The ₦50,000 support is not available to everyone. Only Nigerians selected under the programme are eligible to receive the monthly payment.

OPay also advised beneficiaries that they do not need to click external links or pay any fees to access the support. Customers should be cautious of anyone asking for money or requesting their PIN, password or one-time password (OTP) to process the grant.

The money is a government grant, not a loan, so eligible beneficiaries are not required to pay it back.
