“My Husband Did Not Rape Favour” — Odogwu Asaba’s Wife

The wife of Delta-based content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has defended her husband amid allegations surrounding the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.

Speaking in a video shared on Ogbonna’s social media page, the woman, whose name was not disclosed, said her husband had an affair with Favour but denied that he raped or killed her.

“Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband, Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl.”

She said she had remained quiet while following the case and urged the public not to rely on social media to determine guilt or innocence.

“Social media is not a courtroom. People should bear that in mind, and we don’t do these things with emotions.”

The woman also reaffirmed her support for Ogbonna, saying they have been married for eight years and have four children.

“No matter what happened, Odogwu Asaba is my husband and I stand with him 100%. Nothing is going to turn my back on him.”

She further said her husband would have the opportunity to tell his side of the story and insisted that there were details about the case that the public did not yet know.

Her comments come as Ogbonna remains at the centre of a police investigation following allegations that he raped Favour, who later died after ingesting a toxic substance. The Delta State Police Command had earlier confirmed his arrest and said he would be charged to court.

The police allegation remains an allegation, and Ogbonna has not been convicted of rape or causing Favour’s death. The wife’s claims that the two had an affair and that her husband did not rape Favour are also her account of the events and have not been established by a court.
