2027: Isoko Nation Endorses Tinubu, Oborevwori for Re-election
The Isoko Nation has formally reaffirmed its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was delivered during a grand reception organized in honor of Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, at the Isoko House in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area.
During the event, which brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, and captains of industry, the governor was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Orhuerevwo (Developer of Isoko Nation), while First Lady Tobore Oborevwori was honored as Ododo (Beautiful Flower).
Speaking at the ceremony, the President-General of the Isoko Development Union (IDU), Prof. Chris Akpotu, commended Governor Oborevwori’s administration for prioritizing infrastructure development across Delta State.

Akpotu noted that the Isoko people’s commitment to the state’s MORE Agenda directly aligns with their backing of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He also presented community requests, appealing for the construction of the road linking the IDU secretariat to Olomoro and Iwride-Iyede, as well as urgent intervention on power outage issues across Isoko land.
Responding to the honors, Governor Oborevwori described the reception as a homecoming and expressed gratitude for the continued political support from Delta South Senatorial District.
He assured the populace of continued equitable project distribution, citing key completed and ongoing initiatives such as the Emevor-Orogun Road Phase II, local healthcare facilities, and the completed Trans-Warri Road project featuring 15 bridges awaiting commissioning.
On infrastructure concerns, Oborevwori confirmed that work was ongoing to repair vandalized sections of the Ughelli-Ozoro transmission line to restore power to affected communities, while issuing a firm warning that the Ellu-Ovrode-Ofagbe ring road contract would be revoked if the handler fails to deliver by the first quarter of 2027.
