2027 Commonwealth Scholarship: How Nigerians Can Apply

Nigerians seeking to study for a master’s degree in the United Kingdom can now apply for the 2027/2028 Commonwealth Master’s Scholarship.

Applications are open for study beginning in September or October 2027, with the deadline set for 4:00 p.m. BST on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit their applications through the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s official CSC Central system. The CSC will not accept applications or documents submitted outside the platform.

Applicants must also apply to a participating nominator, with national nominating agencies serving as the main route. Nominators may set their own deadlines and additional eligibility requirements.

The CSC advises candidates to apply early because the online system is expected to be busy close to the deadline. Applications cannot be edited after submission, and late applications will not be accepted.

Applicants can also use the official template application form and guidance document to prepare their answers before completing the online form.

Nominators are expected to submit their selected candidates to the CSC by December 2026, while applicants can expect to receive the outcome of their applications by July 2027.

The CSC also operates a two-factor authentication system, meaning applicants will need access to a smartphone or a second email account when registering.

Candidates should monitor their email, including spam and junk folders, for updates on their applications.
