Tinubu Smarter than his Political Rivals says Atiku’s Ex-spokesperson, Sowunmi

The spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, Segun Sowunmi has stated that President Bola Tinubu outshines his political competitors, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, in terms of intelligence.

Speaking on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Monday, as monitored by Vanguard, Sowunmi addressed questions about his recent meeting with Tinubu, clarifying that it should not be seen as a betrayal of his political ties to Atiku. The former Ogun governorship aspirant emphasized his independence, declaring that he is not bound to any politician.

When asked if he informed Atiku before meeting Tinubu, Sowunmi asserted his autonomy, saying, “I am at liberty as an adult to take decisions. I am not tied to anybody. I am not anti-Tinubu. I own my mouth, I own my words, and I own my arguments.”

Sowunmi praised Tinubu and his initiatives, highlighting the president’s unique approach as a key differentiator. “Do you know the difference between Bola and them? He doesn’t have one approach to dealing with everybody. By miles, he (Tinubu) is smarter than them. He is smarter than Peter Obi, he is smarter than them,” he said. When pressed on whether Tinubu surpasses Atiku in intelligence, he reiterated, “He’s smarter than them.”

Explaining his visit, the PDP stalwart revealed a long-standing relationship with Tinubu, noting that he has known him since 1994.
