NANS Honors Delta Speaker Guwor as Most Outstanding Speaker

Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has been honored with the “Most Outstanding Speaker and Humanitarian Champion” award by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

The award was presented to Guwor in his office in Asaba by the NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladojo, accompanied by national and zonal executive members of the student body.

Oladojo explained that the recognition was in appreciation of Guwor’s commitment to quality education and the welfare of students in Nigeria, particularly in Delta State. He congratulated the Speaker and urged him to sustain his support for education, stating that the award was meant to encourage him to do more.

The NANS President also commended Guwor’s resilience and continuous support for Nigerian students, noting that his visit to Delta was part of a campus tour promised during his campaign.

In his response, Speaker Guwor reiterated his dedication to promoting youth participation in leadership and governance across all levels of society.

“I stand as a testimony that young people can provide effective leadership. As Speaker, I will continue to represent the voice and interest of Nigerian youths in the legislature,” Guwor said.

He further urged NANS executives to prioritize unity, growth, and programs that would empower young people to stay focused and avoid unhealthy politics within the association.

“NANS has not been doing so well in the recent past, but I hope that the present leadership will resuscitate the vibrancy of the association. I will continue to do my best to make the younger generation proud to show that when given opportunity, the youth can excel,” Guwor stressed.

The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the award to the Speaker by the NANS President.
