JS 3 Exam: Delta Releases 2026 BECE Results as 85,049 Candidates Pass
The Delta State Government has released the results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), with 85,049 out of 97,817 candidates who sat for the examination recording passes.
According to the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education, 12,241 candidates are scheduled for resit, while 527 candidates were unsuccessful in the examination.
The examination, commonly known as the JS3 examination, was conducted from June 1 to 5, 2026, at designated centres across Delta State.
The ministry said measures were put in place to ensure the examination was conducted smoothly and in a credible and transparent manner.
Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, described the results as encouraging, saying the performance reflected the state government’s sustained efforts to improve teaching and learning outcomes across its schools.
Ashibogwu congratulated candidates who passed and urged them to remain focused as they progress in their academic pursuits.
He also advised candidates scheduled for the resit to take the opportunity seriously and prepare adequately for the examination.
The commissioner reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s education system through effective supervision, teacher support, improved learning facilities and other interventions aimed at raising academic standards.
BECE Result Access Cards Available Free
Ashibogwu added that access cards for checking the BECE results are available at the offices of school principals and can be collected free of charge.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Henry Akambe, described the release of the results as another milestone in the state’s efforts to uphold standards and accountability in the education sector.
He urged candidates scheduled for resit to remain determined and approach the examination with renewed commitment.
The Director of Examinations and Standards, Mrs. Clementina Ojumah, said the results were carefully processed and verified in line with established standards.
Ojumah assured candidates and parents of the credibility of the results and advised them to rely on official information from the ministry concerning the collection of results and arrangements for the resit examination.
