…Unveils 24 Hours Light For Rural Dwellers.
The Member representing Ika North-East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Emeka Elekeokwuri has again empowered his constituents during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ika North East campaign visit to Umunede.
The legislator gave out cash sums to women, youths and others to start up and boost their businesses, Students to go back to school and for payment of Senior School Certificate Examinations.
The high point of the occasion was the unveiling of “24 Hours Light For Rural Dwellers Empowerment Programme”. Under this special programme over 50 persons from the rural areas were empowered with solar control units to power their homes.
Handing the cash sums and the solar control units to the beneficiaries at Umunede, ward 11 on Friday, 24th November 2017 in a well attended gathering, Chief Ogadi, the PDP LGA boss, said the empowerment as always is to encourage members in the area in their collective resolve to ensure that the PDP remains unrivalled and unbeaten. He urged them to remain committed to the party and maintain their unalloyed support for the senator Ifeanyi Okowa-led government of Delta state and vote massively for all PDP candidates in the up coming local government poll.
While also advising members to key into the numerous skills acquisition programmes of the present administration in the state, Chief Ogadi said amidst fund paucity, His Excellency the Governor of Delta state, senator Okowa remains committed to advancing the course of the people through meaningful and quality skills acquisition programmes in line with his SMART agenda which has the propensity of effecting a positive turn-around in the lives of the people when fully embraced. He urged them to avail themselves of the great opportunity presented by the programme.
The event witnessed the official presentation of the PDP Chairmanship candidate, Barr Victor Ebonka aka Alan K, deputy Chairmanship candidate, Mrs Colina Anazia and the Councilorship candidate of the ward, Mr Dibie Sunday Treasure to the people.
Hon. Elekeokwuri in his remark said he will continue to put smiles on the faces of his constituents, noting that empowerment is to appreciate them for their continued support and bring the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
The lawmaker while speaking to newsmen at the end of event said as a Legislator representing them, he will not fail them. He said his office have over this period rolled out different empowerment programmes and urged constituents to key in.
The beneficiaries who were elated thanked the lawmaker for the empowering them and promised their unreserved support and prayers to the legislator.
