Guwor Celebrates Okowa’s Appointment as South-South Renewed Hope Coordinator

Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has congratulated the immediate-past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, on his appointment as South-South Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, Speaker Guwor described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that “the Delta State House of Assembly looks forward to the positive impact of Dr Okowa’s stewardship on the region and the nation.”

Rt. Hon. Guwor stated that Dr. Okowa’s integrity, strategic vision, competence, and ability to mobilise stakeholders have earned him both the confidence of Mr. President and the respect of leaders across Nigeria.

He added that the former Governor possesses a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the South-South geopolitical zone.

The Speaker, who also serves as the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, highlighted Dr. Okowa’s longstanding commitment to regional development and his proven track record in transparent governance.

He noted that the appointment signals a renewed push for inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and stronger economic prospects in the Niger Delta.

According to him, “His Excellency, Dr Okowa’s leadership will be pivotal in translating the President’s vision into tangible projects that uplift the people of the South-South and reinforce the administration’s commitment to equitable national development.”

Guwor expressed confidence that the partnership between the Delta State Government, the Renewed Hope Initiative, and the Federal Government will advance President Tinubu’s agenda and strengthen his prospects for a successful re-election in 2027.
