“Cole Palmer: Goal Drought Fueled Me”
Cole Palmer’s stoppage-time penalty sealed a 3-1 victory for Chelsea against Liverpool on Sunday, marking the champions’ third league defeat of the season and Palmer’s first goal since January.
When asked about his recent goal drought, Palmer remained unfazed, telling Sky Sports, “No goals for months? I just felt normal. Obviously sh*t happens, you know what I mean.”
The Chelsea forward credited the dry spell with fueling his determination to improve. “It gives me more fight and motivation to do more for myself and for the team,” he said.
As a key figure in Chelsea’s attacking setup this season, Palmer’s response to criticism has been telling. When faced with negative commentary on social media during his barren spell, the England international was dismissive.
“Social media nowadays is full of idiots, trolls, I don’t care about that,” he said bluntly.
