Cardi B Releases New Album Am I the Drama? After Seven Years, Debuts at No. 1
Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has officially returned with her highly anticipated sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, ending a seven-year wait since her debut project, Invasion of Privacy.
The 23-track album, released under Atlantic Records, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes albums chart shortly after its release. It features high-profile collaborations with Kehlani, Megan Thee Stallion, Selena Gomez, and Janet Jackson. Rolling Stone awarded the project 4.5 stars, praising it for delivering “raw energy and fearless storytelling.”
As part of the rollout, Cardi B premiered the music video for her single Safe and headlined an Apple Music event in New York City. She also confirmed plans for a world tour set to begin in 2026, marking her first global tour since rising to stardom.
The album release comes at a pivotal moment in Cardi B’s personal life. On September 17, she confirmed that she is expecting a child with New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, telling CBS, “I’m excited. I’m happy.”
Earlier in September, she also celebrated a major legal victory when a Los Angeles jury cleared her of assault charges in a $24 million civil lawsuit brought by security guard Emani Ellis. The jury ruled in her favor after a week-long trial, closing a long-standing legal battle.
