Cardi B Faces Court Over Alleged Assault on Security Guard

Award-winning rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar popularly known as Cardi B is currently facing trial after being accused of assaulting a security guard during an incident at an OB-GYN clinic in 2018.

According a post shared on Instagram by XXL The complainant, Emani Ellis, filed a lawsuit against the hip-hop star, alleging that Cardi B lashed out after being recognized. Ellis told the court that the rapper shouted at her, poked her in the face, spat on her, and even instructed security staff to restrain her.

Cardi B strongly denied the accusations, giving a different account of the incident. She told the court that Ellis had attempted to record her without permission and became confrontational. The rapper insisted that she never physically touched the guard.

On the second day of proceedings, Cardi B reaffirmed her denial while Ellis pressed for compensation, which includes medical expenses, lost wages, emotional suffering, and a $25,000 civil penalty.

The case remains in court, with Cardi B expected to testify further as her legal team challenges Ellis’ claims.

Reacting to this, some fans supported Cardi B, with one user writing: “I may be on Cardi’s side on this one.”

Others sided with Ellis: “Cardi B needs to be held accountable. Too many times she gets away with things.”
