BREAKING: Tinubu Inaugurates New Anambra Govt House, Others
President Bola Tinubu arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Thursday for his first official visit to the state since assuming office.
According to a report by CHANNELS TELEVISION, he landed at the Chinua Achebe International Airport around 12:15 p.m. and was received by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
As part of his visit, President Tinubu officially inaugurated Anambra State’s first-ever Government House a landmark project marking over three decades since the state’s creation.
Also lined up for commissioning are several other infrastructural projects completed under the administration of Governor Soludo.
Speaking earlier on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okoma, expressed the excitement of the people over the new development.
“For 34 years, Anambra State is the only state that does not have a government house and we sit in a makeshift house that is outside the state capital which is at Amawbia,” Okoma said.
“But today, there is something to celebrate. Anambra State, by the grace of God, has through the leadership of Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, we have a government house that is sitting close to 8 hectares of land and it is going to be the biggest and the greenest state house in the country.
This marks President Tinubu’s second visit to the South-East in 2025, following a trip to Enugu State in January. During the visit, he is also expected to hold a town hall meeting with key stakeholders and commission other notable projects, including the Solution Fun City.
