Mohamed Salah Banned From Driving for Six Months

Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been handed a six-month driving ban in the United Kingdom after failing to provide information identifying the driver of his Rolls-Royce when it was caught speeding in Cheshire.

The Egyptian was also ordered to pay £1,044 after being convicted at Warrington Combined Court under the Single Justice Procedure.

According to court documents, Salah’s Rolls-Royce was recorded by a speed camera travelling at 36mph in a 30mph zone in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on March 27, 2026.

However, the speeding charge itself was not the offence for which he was convicted. Salah failed to respond to a notice from Cheshire Constabulary requesting information about who was driving the vehicle and did not enter a plea.

The incident occurred three days after Salah announced that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025/26 season, bringing his nine-year spell at the Premier League club to an end.

Liverpool had described him as having “firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history”. Salah finished his Liverpool career with 257 goals in 442 appearances before moving to Turkish club Trabzonspor.

The driving ban comes as Salah enjoys a strong start to his career in Turkey. On September 19, he scored a hat-trick and provided an assist as Trabzonspor defeated defending champions Galatasaray 4-0 in the Turkish Super Lig.

The performance also saw Salah break a Trabzonspor record previously associated with former Super Eagles striker Anthony Nwakaeme. He became the first Trabzonspor player to score a hat-trick against Galatasaray, according to reports on the record.

While Salah will be unable to drive in the UK for the next six months, the 34-year-old continues to attract attention for his performances on the pitch following his move from Liverpool to Trabzonspor.
