ASUU Declares Two-Week Warning Strike from Monday Night
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced that it will commence a two-week warning strike nationwide, beginning from midnight on Monday, October 13, 2025.
The decision follows the expiration of a 14-day ultimatum earlier issued to the Federal Government over unresolved issues relating to lecturers’ welfare, funding of public universities, and the implementation of previous agreements.
According to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter), ASUU has directed all its chapters across the country to fully comply with the directive beginning Monday night.
While details of the union’s latest decision are expected to be officially communicated through its National Executive Council (NEC), the warning strike is intended to press for the government’s attention to pending demands that have remained unaddressed despite repeated negotiations.
