Delta Govt Sets Saturday for September Sanitation Exercise

The monthly environmental sanitation exercise for September 2026 will hold across the State on Saturday, September 26, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The State Government announced that vehicular and human movement will not be restricted during the exercise due to the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (Resit) taking place across the State.

Residents have, however, been advised to use the sanitation period to clean and maintain their surroundings, including cutting and clearing overgrown weeds around their premises.

The government also urged residents to desilt and clear drainage channels, properly dispose of refuse and take necessary measures to prevent the spread of diseases.

Residents are further expected to ensure that the environment within a 20-metre radius of their premises is properly cleaned and maintained.

The Honourable Commissioner, Permanent Secretary and staff of the Ministry, in collaboration with relevant authorities, will monitor the exercise across the State to ensure compliance.

The State Government stressed that environmental cleanliness is a continuous responsibility and urged residents not to wait for the monthly sanitation exercise before cleaning their surroundings.

The government also appreciated residents for their cooperation and support towards maintaining a clean, healthy and sustainable environment across the State.
