‘Kissing in Movies Is Weird and Uncomfortable’ — Saga Adeolu
Saga Adeolu has opened up on the reality behind romantic scenes in movies, revealing that many actors find them uncomfortable despite public perception.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Nolly Icons podcast, the Nollywood actor dismissed the belief that performers enjoy such moments, describing the experience as awkward.
“It is not easy to kiss another actor. It is weird. I have not really had any good onscreen kisses. It is weird having people invade your mouth with saliva,” he said.
According to him, actors approach such scenes professionally, focusing on storytelling rather than personal feelings.
“It is not something we enjoy. People think we enjoy it, but we don’t. We are just doing it for the story most times,” he added.
Highlighting the demands of the profession, Saga recalled a moment on set where he had to perform multiple romantic scenes in a single day.
“If I had my way, I won’t kiss anyone in a film. There was a day I kissed four different girls on set,” he revealed.
Despite frequently playing romantic roles, the actor noted that such scenes often feel technical rather than emotional, challenging the assumptions held by many viewers.
His comments shed light on the realities of filmmaking, emphasizing the level of professionalism actors maintain while bringing stories to life.
