Phyna Encourages Imisi as BBNaija Star Battles Public Rift with Mother
Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has offered support to fellow reality TV star Imisi, who is currently facing a widely publicised dispute with her mother.
In a message shared on X on Monday, Phyna expressed empathy and urged Imisi to stay strong despite the emotional turmoil.
“To Imisi, @imisiofficial, and to anyone walking through the same fire… I’m praying for your strength,” she wrote.
“My own experience broke me, but I’m slowly rising. And I’m rooting for you with everything in me. Don’t handle it like I did — build strong and focus on you, baby girl.”
Phyna’s message comes as Imisi’s family conflict continues to draw attention online. The rift escalated after Imisi’s mother accused her daughter of harbouring hatred and revealed the dilapidated condition of the house she currently lives in, despite Imisi’s N150 million Big Brother Naija prize.
Reacting in Yoruba, Imisi urged her mother to avoid further public confrontation.
“This is why Aunty Debola said you should not show your face to the world,” she said. “I can’t explain everything now; you’re among people. Just overlook it all and leave social media. I’ll send you money to rent a new house. I’m tired of the drama… I’m still recovering from Big Brother. Please forgive me; I am your daughter.”
Imisi’s mother had earlier insisted she does not need her daughter’s money, accusing Imisi of sharing exaggerated or false accounts of parental neglect and sexual assault from her childhood. She also posted a video showing her current home, which triggered intense online debate.
Phyna’s solidarity with Imisi reflects her own past family issues. After her 2023 BBNaija victory, her father, Felix Otabor, publicly lamented that he suffered financially after selling his work vehicles at her request—a decision he said left them estranged.
