Mr Jollof Apologises After Viral Fight With VeryDarkMan

Nigerian comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly known as Mr Jollof, has apologised publicly after a physical altercation with social media critic Very Dark Man (VDM) aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight went viral online.

The clash, which reportedly occurred during a flight from Asaba to Lagos, sparked widespread reactions after a video surfaced showing both men engaged in a heated exchange that escalated into a physical fight inside the aircraft.

Reacting to the incident, Mr Jollof shared a video on his Instagram page on Monday, offering apologies to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), United Nigeria Airlines, and fellow passengers who were inconvenienced.

He insisted he is not a violent person, stressing that he acted only in self-defence.

“I want to use this medium to sincerely apologise to the NCAA, United Nigeria Airlines, and the passengers that boarded the airline,” he said. “I was only defending myself. You guys saw what happened, and I am very sorry if I delayed your appointment. Pardon me. This isn’t my kind of person. It will never happen again.”

The comedian also apologised to his family and employer, acknowledging that the incident did not reflect his character.

“To my lovely wife, I know you’re proud of me. To my kids, I am sorry, Daddy will never do this again. To my boss, I am very sorry, this isn’t my kind of person,” he added.
