Dele Momodu Joins ADC, Rules Out Elective Ambitions
Veteran journalist and Ovation Magazine founder, Dele Momodu, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring his membership in Benin City and ruling out any ambition to contest for senate or governor in Edo State.
Addressing supporters, Momodu dismissed speculation about elective office, saying:
“People have asked me, ‘What do you want? Do you want to be governor or senator?’ No. I just want to promote the best interests of our people.”
He described the ADC as a new opposition coalition and said his political goal is to help rescue Nigeria from one-party dominance.
“My mission in politics is to join hands of fellowship with citizens of like minds to rescue, recover, and reset Nigeria. Nigeria must be rescued from a one-party state and one parliament,” he said.
Momodu said his decision to join ADC was driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to Edo State and national development, adding that he is fully reintegrating into the state’s political process.
The former presidential aspirant resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July 2025, citing what he described as the party’s takeover by anti-democratic forces.
