‘None of My Children Will Do Music’ — Davido

Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that none of his children will pursue careers in music, saying the entertainment industry is too demanding and that he does not want them to experience the struggles he faced.

The singer made the remark during a livestream with content creator Carter Efe, where he reflected on his journey in the entertainment industry and the future he envisions for his children.

“None of my children will do music, it’s so stressful. I know what I’ve gone through.”

Davido explained that he would rather have his children build careers within the business empire of his father, billionaire businessman Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, than venture into the entertainment industry, which he described as highly demanding.

Reflecting on his own journey, the award-winning singer recalled that his father initially opposed his decision to pursue music, a situation he said made the path to success even more challenging before he eventually earned his family’s support.

Despite his position, Davido indicated that he would not stop any of his children if they ultimately chose to follow a career in entertainment, noting that one of his daughters already enjoys singing and dancing.

The comments have since sparked conversations across social media, with fans sharing mixed reactions over whether children of celebrities should follow their parents’ careers or forge different paths.
