Chioma Chukwuka Mourns Father in Emotional Tribute
Veteran Nollywood actress and producer Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the passing of her father, Chief Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
The award-winning screen star shared the news on Friday via her verified Instagram page, expressing deep sorrow over losing both parents. The loss comes 13 years after the death of her mother, leaving her and her siblings without either parent.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote. “I lost my mother 13 years ago and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. So na only me bayi?”
Paying tribute to her late patriarch, whom she described as “my daddy, papa’m, obara’m, my comfort,” the actress expressed gratitude that he lived a long, fulfilled life and witnessed his children and grandchildren grow.
“I am so thankful you lived a long life, and I am grateful to God you saw your children and grandchildren. We had hoped you would meet your great-grandchildren too, mana nya diba!” she added.
Chukwuka-Akpotha explained that she delayed sharing the news publicly to allow herself time to process the personal grief privately. She appealed to fans, colleagues, and well-wishers to keep her and her family in their prayers as they finalize funeral arrangements.
