Onwo Urges Constituents To Remain Law Abiding, As Isoko Nation Covid-19 Committee Distributes Palliatives


The Member Representing Isoko South two Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon (Chief) Ferguson Onwo, has again enjoined his constituents to remain law abiding and obey government directives on the control of Covid-19 pandemic.

Hon Onwo made the appeal during the distribution of palliatives put together by leaders of Isoko nation for communities across Isoko North and South local government areas to cushion the effects of coronavirus on the people.

The Lawmaker said the sit-at-home order, regular hand washing, social distancing, amongst others were necessary preventive measures against Covid-19 and should be obeyed to the later.

Hon Onwo while monitoring the distribution of the food items in Umeh-Erowah, Uzere, Olomoro, Igbide and Enwhe wards in Isoko South two Constituency, reminded the people that the only known cure for now is to stay safe.

The Lawmaker commended the Isoko Nation Covid-19 Committee for its efforts at ensuring that the food items get to the people, especially the vulnerable ones.

He stated that he had to personally monitor the exercise in his constituency to ensure that the distribution is hitch-free and devoid of party affiliation.

Hon Onwo who donated half a million naira for the purchase of the sundry food items, also paid glowing tributes to every Isoko sons and daughters that contributed substantial amount for the collective project.

The Lawmaker expressed optimism that the items distributed by the Isoko Covid-19 Committee will go along way to compliment the ones distributed in the localities by the state government through the State’s Food Bank.

Hon Onwo expressed concern over the pains being faced by the people as a result of the lockdown to check the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus and assured the constituents of continued support.

“My constituents, I feel your pains at these trying times and as your representative I will continue to stand by you. I am aware that businesses are closed down as a result of the sit-at-home order and everyone is affected. I want to make passionate appeal that we should obey all instructions by government to enable us defeat the common enemy, Covid19”.

“Let me specifically thank Isoko sons and daughters who contributed money towards this exercise and I am sure the food items will help to ameliorate the suffering of our people”, Onwo stated.
